Throughout the isolation of lockdown there has been one reliable companion - TV. Binge streaming our favourite programmes has been one of the few things we can do freely. Television has become our source of adventure from the safe confines of our homes, and an even bigger part of our lives than ever. But the effects of covid-19 have been felt in the UK TV production industry,

Gone Girl- still here?

Despite almost 5 years having elapsed since Gone Girl was released, it remains embedded into many peoples' brains. A two and a half hour thriller/mystery that initially lulls the viewer into the traditional thriller tropes of an unfortunate, defenceless wife, her moody husband and a failing marriage. Ultimately, by the end of the film, the viewer is left questioning all of their initial prejudices.

The Crown- should we believe everything we see?

Since it’s arrival in 2016, Netflix’s The Crown has received much acclaim, won awards and had plenty of attention from fans of the royal family who love to watch moments of history played our on screen. Even those who are unaware of British royal history can become familiar with key events and figures.
